The primary role of the SSA is to assist in managing the information technology (IT) security infrastructure and protection of sensitive customer information and electronic payments data as follows:

  • Review applications and services process for compliance with security policies and standards;
  • Work with other groups on projects and products to ensure appropriate security measures are taken before rolling out changes to the applications or new products;
  • Monitor the network infrastructure, as well as capacity planning;
  • Analyze security logs with appropriate follow-up of any anomalies;
  • Recommend and implement changes in the way access authority is issued;
  • Assist in the auditing and testing of the IT disaster recovery procedures;
  • Evaluate and recommend security products for various platforms and initiatives;
  • Develop and write security policy procedures. Communicate security awareness to management and staff;
  • Assist internal and external audit teams in resolution of any outstanding security issues;
  • Ensure protection from virus; Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks and network intrusion;
  • Security assessments including review of all environment initiatives for compliance to security policies, standards and practices;
  • Monitor industry security bulletins (i.e., SSANS, CERT, RTS on SCA, PCI DSS, etc.);
  • Monitor virus alerts;
  • Timely update of the operational systems, firewalls, anti-virus, and other software of the company’s servers, routers and firewalls;
  • Timely update of the operational systems and anti-virus software of the company employees’ PCs, laptops, tablets and smartphones;

We are looking for an Experienced Data Engineer to join our team. You’ll wear many hats in this role, but much of your focus will be building out our Python ETL processes and writing superb SQL to transform raw data into useful data systems.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain data pipelines (including those from 3rd party sources and APIs)
  • Identifying and patching issues and bugs identified in the pipeline/architecture
  • Generating and maintaining large databases from various sources of structured and unstructured data
  • Create and maintain processes to ensure that data is valid, up to date, reliable and of a high quality
  • Working with our Data Science and Analytics team to provide data for their models

Key Essential Skills:

  • An experienced Data Engineer with strong Python engineering skills
  • Strong SQL
  • Good knowledge of ETL and Data APIs and experience in building and maintaining data pipelines and architecture
  • Experience with Git/GitHub
  • Experience with Cloud technologies: Big Query/Snowflake/RedShift, Google Cloud Platform GCP (PubSub, Dataflow) preferred but AWS also considered
  • Understanding of how to best organise and model data for storage, retrieval and analysis

Good to have:

  • Exposure to real time data ingestion / streaming data sources
  • Experience in or knowledge of working in an agile project based environment

About You

We are looking for someone with a strong understanding of user experience (UX) design to help our Product team to align the strategy and goals of our organisation and the needs and requirements of our customers to create amazing designs and requirements for the look, feel workflows and tasks for the end-user computer interface for the suite of Best Practice Software.
You will:
  • Be at the forefront of contemporary human-centred, visual design.
  • Undertake user research and use a range of research methods to understand the customers’ goals, business processes, workflows and needs.
  • Translate the requirements for the software’s optimal functionality into interactive solutions, using a range of contemporary tools and techniques.

As a UX/UI Designer, we'll call on your unique talents, skills, expertise and experience to:

  • Wire-framing to designing end-to-end flows and prototypes. You will be in charge of designing products that solve problems in a simple and elegant way while taking care of every small detail.
  • Implement with the technical team, and present the final solution during the design reviews.
  • Explain your process, and demonstrate how your content solves real customer problems.
  • Gathering and evaluating user requirements, in collaboration with product managers and engineers.
  • Develop UI mockups and prototypes that clearly illustrate what Novatum’s product or service function and look like.
  • Create original graphic designs (e.g. images, sketches and tables).
  • Conduct layout adjustments based on user feedback.

We believe our ideal applicant will demonstrate the following attributes:

  • Proven experience as a UI/UX Designer or similar role in a fintech company with at least 2 years of employment.
  • Strong design skills across iOS, Android, and web platforms.
  • The ability to understand technical implications in their design decisions.
  • The ability to take ownership of the design process and work as a self-directed member of the development team.
  • Strong UX focus and understanding of human behaviour.
  • Deep knowledge of the modern financial landscape and existing tools - how they work on client’s side credit cards, various payment systems like SWIFT, SEPA, Faster Payment, crypto trading, onboarding processes, etc.
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate with various stakeholders.
